- Closed beta status: Scam With Your Friends left beta and went publicly playable in September 2026.
- Official access channel: The DO NOT REDEEM IT Roblox group is the developer's main announcement hub.
- Play right now: The game is free to join on the official Roblox game page with servers up to 25 players.
- Stay ahead: Joining the group is still the best way to catch future testing phases, events, and code drops.
- Avoid fake invites: Any "closed beta key" sold or DM'd by strangers is a scam — fittingly ironic, but a real one.
Closed Beta Status: What Changed in 2026
Scam With Your Friends, the chaotic co-op deception game by developer group DO NOT REDEEM IT, originally ran through a limited early access period before its full public launch on September 15, 2026. If you searched for how to join the closed beta, here is the good news: you no longer need beta access at all. The game is now openly playable on Roblox, and in just its first three weeks it has passed 1 million visits with over 16,000 favorites.
That said, understanding how the beta worked — and how the developers handle early access — matters, because DO NOT REDEEM IT is an active studio that pushes frequent updates (the most recent landed October 7, 2026). Future content tests, limited modes, and events will likely follow the same playbook.
| Milestone | Date | What It Meant for Access |
|---|---|---|
| Closed/early testing period | Pre-September 2026 | Limited players, group-based invites |
| Public launch | September 15, 2026 | Anyone can join via the Roblox game page |
| First major updates | Late Sept–Oct 2026 | New content, rebalanced trade mechanics |
| Current status (Oct 2026) | Live and free | 2,800+ concurrent players, 25-player servers |
The closed beta is over — but in a better way. You can jump straight into the full game today for free, no invite or key required.
Official Access Channels Compared
Not every route into Scam With Your Friends content is equal. Some channels are official, some are community-run, and some are outright fake. Here is how they stack up.
Roblox Game Page
- The official way to play right now
- Free, no invite needed
- Auto-joins you to a live server
- Up to 25 players per lobby
DO NOT REDEEM IT Group
- Developer's announcement hub
- Patch notes and update news
- Historical source of beta/test invites
- Occasional reward and event drops
Community Spaces
- r/roblox discussions and clips
- YouTube search for gameplay tips
- Useful for learning scam patterns
- Not an official access channel
| Channel | Type | Best For | Risk Level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Roblox game page | Official | Playing immediately | None |
| DO NOT REDEEM IT group | Official | News, future tests, events | None |
| r/roblox | Community | Tips, discussion | Low |
| "Beta key" sellers / DMs | Unofficial | Nothing legitimate | High — avoid |
A game about scamming your friends attracts real scammers. Nobody legitimate sells closed beta keys for a free Roblox game. Any link promising "exclusive beta access" outside the official Roblox page or developer group should be treated as a phishing attempt.
Step-by-Step: Getting Access Today
If your goal was beta entry, the equivalent outcome now is simply getting into the game and positioning yourself for any future limited-access phases. Follow these steps in order.
Install Roblox
On PC, download the Roblox Player from the official Roblox website. On mobile, install Roblox free from the App Store, Google Play, or Amazon Appstore. No separate launcher is needed for this game.
Create or Log In to Your Account
A free Roblox account stores your progress, inventory, and friends list across PC, mobile, and console, so you only need to set this up once.
Join the DO NOT REDEEM IT Group
Visit the developer's group page and click Join. This is the channel that historically carried beta invites, and it is where any future testing phases or events will be announced first.
Open the Game Page and Play
Search "Scam With Your Friends" on Roblox or open the game page directly, then hit the green Play button. Roblox drops you into an active server automatically.
Watch for Future Test Phases
Check the group announcements periodically. If the developers open a closed beta for new modes or a sequel project, group members are typically first in line for access.
Smaller servers are better for learning the game's deal-making rhythm. Fewer experienced players means fewer people ready to run a long con on you while you are still figuring out the controls.
What Beta-Style Content Might Come Next
Because the studio ships updates quickly — three weeks from launch to a major rebalance patch — it is worth knowing what kinds of limited-access content Roblox developers typically run, so you recognize the real thing when it appears.
| Content Type | How Access Usually Works | Where It's Announced |
|---|---|---|
| New mode tests | Group members or public test servers | Developer group |
| Limited-time events | Open to all during event window | Game page + group |
| Reward codes | Redeemed in-game, time-limited | Group posts, milestones |
| Early area previews | Sometimes random or invite-based | Group announcements |
The core loop you will be practicing in the meantime — pulling off ridiculous scams with your crew, tricking NPCs into handing over cash, completing quests without getting caught, and surviving the week without being raided or fired — is exactly what any beta test would build on. Mastering it now means you are ready the moment new content lands.
Progress made in the live game carries forward through normal updates. Unlike some beta-to-launch transitions, you are not risking wasted effort by playing now.
